Task Descriptor

Industrial mechanics (millwrights) determine load and select appropriate rigging, hoisting/lifting and moving equipment to ensure proper and safe lifts of machinery. For this task, lifts include hoisting, lifting and moving of equipment, materials and components.

Task Descriptor

Rigging, hoisting/lifting and moving loads are hazardous activities and care must be taken to ensure the safety of all personnel and prevent damage to equipment and environment. Industrial mechanics (millwrights) must be skilled in the proper procedures for rigging, hoisting, lifting, drifting, dragging (using rollers) loads.
