Credential Verification Information
The CCDA supports and facilitates the mobility of skilled trades workers in Canada through the Red Seal Program and alignment with the Canadian Free Trade Agreement. Moreover, the CCDA is working collaboratively to ensure all jurisdictions develop digital solutions that enable immediate verification of journeyperson’s qualifications. Provinces and territories across Canada are moving towards online public registries of tradespeople, to ensure ease of verifying certification. Using the journeyperson’s name and/or certificate number, employers and consumers can easily verify the authenticity of a journeyperson’s qualification(s). The links to each established registry are listed below. Some provinces and territories are still in the process of implementing their own registries. As they do, links will be provided on this page.
Please note that requirements for certification vary across jurisdictions, and that each province and territory may have additional, separate licensing and occupational, health and safety requirements. Those requirements are governed by other regulatory agencies and government departments.
